Mac PyCharm can't disable autosave

Every time I close PyCharm it automatically saves all my files that have been opened. I thought changing the synchronisation settings would change this and provide a pop up to warn me of changes that haven't been saved but no luck. I am working on MacOS 10.14 on PyCharm 2019.2
