Updating Node packages has odd or no visual status

I'm in Settings [Windows] > Languages & Frameworks > Node.js and NPM, and when I click any or all of the packages to be updated then click the up arrow on the right (under the + and - buttons), all it shows is a spinner on the first package, and then it'll update something randomly that needs to be updated, or exactly the one thing I clicked...

The interface here just seems unfinished; if it's going to show a spinner on one of the packages, it should be the one it's updating, so I know what's going on (is it actually updating? stuck?). Will it continue in the background if I click OK to close the box?

It's just not clear what's going on when it's "updating" nor if it'll finish or what the problem was when it just doesn't update one of the selected packages.

Upgrading multiple packages at once doesn't currently work, please follow https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/WEB-43001 for updates

Thanks for the info, but my issue is about visual indicators of what's happening.
