Intellij Idea 2018.3 .6 won't start the websphere applicationserver,

when i click on run button, then the popup window is flashing and i see some errors in that. immediatley that window is getting closed. then i see the error - Application Server was not connected before run configuration stop, reason: // Unable to ping server at localhost:8880 -

Does the issue occur with 2019.3 release as well: http://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download/index.html ?

What WebSphere version do you use?

Please try with the clean server installation.

If the issue persists, submit a ticket to support at https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/requests/new and attach the logs (Help | Compress Logs and Show in ...) and the screenshots of all the tabs of the run/debug configuration you are using.

I am using JDK 1.8

webpshere version - 8.5.5.12

I did clear installation, but still having the issue.

if I don't use the websphere server generated startup script, and use startServer.bat. the server is starting fine in Run mode. but not in Debug mode.

I tried in 2018.3.6 and 2017.3.5 as well. but before that I tried in  2019.1.4 later I went back to previous versions.

does Intellij Idea caches the configurations?

I am having this same issue on IDEA 2020.2.2. I am also getting The input line is too long.
The syntax of the command is incorrect. In my Server Output pane.l
