No JDK found. Please validate either PHPSTORM_JDK, JDK_HOME or JAVA_HOME environment variable points to valid JDK installation.

Just updated PHPStorm and it fails to start with the above-mentioned error. I'm running Fedora 31.

I've checked the phpstorm.sh file and I cannot see any definition of PHPSTORM_JDK in that script. I also can't find any phpstorm.jdk anywhere in my HOME folder. Also there's no ${XDG_CONFIG_HOME:-$HOME/.config}/JetBrains folder on my machine.

How exactly did you update the IDE?

Would it be possible to just reinstall it either by unpacking the tarball to the fresh and empty directory (very important!) or using the JetBrains Toolbox utility?

Vasiliy Yur I ran the update from the update prompt that showed up in PhpStorm. The solution you suggested was exactly what I've done and that fixed the issue. Sorry for the late reply, and thanks for the help.
