Idea not coming up after upgrade

Hi,
i just upgrade Clion and Idea pretty much at the same time. Clion 2020.1 came up just fine, but idea is borked.
$ /d2/local/idea/bin/idea.sh
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM warning: Option UseConcMarkSweepGC was deprecated in version 9.0 and will likely be removed in a future release.
IDE is being shut down
This repeats.
~/.IntelliJIdea2019.3/system/log/idea*.log does not seem to change after running the above.
1. How do i fix this?
2. Is upgrading multiple products at the same time a bad idea(TM)?

Hello,
Does it help to backup remove folders used to store settings/configs (https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/articles/206544519-Directories-used-by-the-IDE-to-store-settings-caches-plugins-and-logs) and run IDE with defaults?

It's ok as they use different folders.
