Maven plugin not running and consuming alot of ram

Hi i'm having a problem with my maven plugin for intellij, so basicly the pluging detects maven and i have accès to the maven menu. But when i use the green arrow to run a maven build nothing happens and Intellij start comusing alot of ram and freezing for time to time. I go from 1.2gb to 3-4 GB of ram. Normaly a run window pops up in the bottom of the IDE but not here. I have to close the IDE for it to stop cosuming so much ram and i cant find anything in the logs related to maven... 

I tried reinstalling intellij and maven. still nothing happenes.
