Icons from jetbrains.design/intellij/resources/icons_list for light and dark mode

Hello,
I need to use a few icons from https://jetbrains.design/intellij/resources/icons_list/. On this page, I see light and dark mode. This light or dark mode does it affect the icon? Icon colors? Or I can use one icon for light and dark mode?
I tried to download the icon by different modes and compare it, but don't see any difference.

Some icons have different variants for the light/dark modes, some don't.
I.e. copy icon:
rubygems icon has just a single variant provided - because it looks good in themes.
