Out of the Blue PHPStorm Freezes at "Loading Project" for 2 mins

So i've been using PHPStorm for a few years. It typically takes 5-10secs to load my existing project up. For the past few days it now takes almost exactly 2 mins to launch my project. Specifically, it seems to get stuck when it gets to the "Loading Project" part (see screenshot below). After a few mins it resumes. Huh. Any idea? Using Windows 10. My project has been excluded from Windows Defender.

Without the logs, it's really hard to tell what's going on.

Please try these two:

File | Invalidate Caches / Restart | Invalidate and Restart``File | Invalidate Caches / Restart | Invalidate and Restart
Settings | Plugins | Installed | [Gear icon] | Disable All Downloaded PluginsSettings | Plugins | Installed | [Gear icon] | Disable All Downloaded Plugins

If neither one helped, please upload the logs (Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data) to our upload service after you restart the IDE, open the affected project, and it fully opens.
