Can somebody PLEASE help me understand github personal access tokens, and why I can't get them to persist?
Hello
I'm at the end of my rope with Github personal access tokens. I don't know why, but every single day I have to create two new access tokens to push my updates. Should they not persist? Is there something that I'm not understanding?
Here is some more info:
- I manage two different projects on github, each with their own separate repositories and logins
- I work from two different computers, sometimes from my laptop, sometimes from my desktop
Most days when I go to push changes, authentication fails due to the access token and I must generate another. I have dozens and dozens of them now! If I work on only one project, from only one computer - that specific access token seems to work well day after day. But it I open the other project in PyCharm, it all goes to hell (or if I work on day on my desktop, then the next day on my laptop, authentication always fails) . I have literally tried everything.. Doing one access token per login and putting it on both machines.. Making 4 different access tokens (2 machines and 2 repositories).. Nothing seems to work! As soon as I use the other machine, or switch projects, it all just stops working and I have to create yet another access token. I simply don't get why it isn't working.
Any insight would be most appreciated!

Hello Pysimplesql
Could you please check what settings do you have under Preferences | Appearance & Behavior | System Settings | Passwords?
Do I understand correctly that after each IDE restart you have "Missing access token" under Preferences | Version Control | GitHub?
