Datagrip and tablet

sometimes I am using my other machine (Surface Pro) in laptop mode but I also have a pen. it doesn't seem to work at all. even without a pen holding on a data source should open right contetmenu but it doesn't. then pressing with the pen in query console also doesn't move the cursor in the place I clicked

Hi,

JBR-2041 covers the touch long-press not opening the context menu on a data source.

Regarding the pen input issue, does it help if you do the following:

  1. Open Help | Edit Custom VM Options in DataGrip.
  2. Add this line:
-Dcom.jetbrains.default.touchscreen.mode=true

Save and restart DataGrip.

Two side effects are documented on the flag:

  • Swiping over text selects instead of scrolls.
  • The on-screen keyboard may stop appearing when tapping the editor.

If you’re trying to use DataGrip on a tablet, I’d check the OS and keyboard/mouse support first. Some IDE features can be pretty awkward on touch-only devices, so a remote desktop setup can be a practical workaround if the tablet isn’t fully supported.
