Wayland Encoding Bug and Sometimes clipboard sharing between ChromeOS and the Linux container drops
Note: Since every existing relevant issue old and I can post any more messages there, I am posting this as a new issue.
– Problem 1 – :
Copying and Pasting resulted a fake foreign language characters. I tried to translate that fake foreign language text but nothing returned.
Googling showed me this:

Sometimes clipboard sharing between ChromeOS and the Linux container drops, meaning Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V stop working between external apps (like Chrome browser) and PyCharm.

The garbled characters come from the known bug JBR-7721. It happens when the IDE runs on native Wayland on ChromeOS: the IDE puts text on the clipboard as UTF-8 but labels it as UTF-16. The fix is planned for 2026.3. PyCharm 2026.2.2 (runtime 25.0.4+1-b508.27) does not include it.
Your
-Dawt.toolkit.name=XToolkitoption is the workaround, and it is active. Your About block shows `Toolkit: sun.awt.X11.XToolkit`, and it pasted into this post without corruption. Keep the option until you update to 2026.3. To get notified when the fix ships, follow the issue as described in Watching YouTrack issues.I do not know of an existing issue for the clipboard sync that drops. The next time it happens, please check two things:
1. Does copy/paste between Chrome and another Linux app in the container, for example a terminal window, also stop working?
2. Does restarting PyCharm alone bring it back?
