Plugin Signing in Markeplace Coming in 2021.2?

Hi,
We are starting to test our plugin on 2021.2, since EAP version 4416.7 we notice that an unsigned plugin warning appears when we try to install our plugin from a ZIP file. I found this blog post which seems related: https://blog.jetbrains.com/platform/2020/09/plugin-signing-in-marketplace/
Will plugin signing via this mechanism be required in/from version 2021.2?
Will any additional restrictions be placed upon unsigned plugins?
