MacOS Monterey 12.0.1: A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment
已回答
I just recently updated my M1 macOS to Monterey version 12 and since then my local Intellij Java application constantly crashes after a couple of minutes.
I've attempted multiple suggested solutions from sources such as https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JBR-3714 and https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JBR-3715 yet to no avail. I'm a Java newbie so I would appreciate it if anyone could shed light on this issue or where is the best place to report it. Thanks.

Hi Mohammed,
Were any Java crash dumps recorded? Look for java_error_in_*.log files in the user's home directory and attach them here.
Have you tried the solution from this post (installing the latest EAP version of IntelliJ IDEA or downloading the latest JetBrains Runtime and switching to it inside your current version of the IDE)?
Hi Arina
Thanks for responding, I appreciate it.
Two Java crash dumps have been recorded in the home directory but these were last modified in October. However, new error files are generated in the project directory and they are similar to the crash dumps:
I've just pasted the summary above as the full thread is quite long but I can paste the whole error if that's better. Also, I've tried the suggested solutions on the thread you recommended but it still crashes. Do you know when the version with this fix will be released?
Thanks for that Mohammed.
It would certainly help if you could paste the next chunk from the crash report that contains the actual stack trace. I'll match it against the stacks in existing YouTrack issues.
Okay, that's fine. Here's the full error report:
Thanks Mohammed.
Does switching to the default JBR 11 help?
I am using the default JBR and I've switched to a couple of others but it hasn't made much of a difference.
It's fine though, I will see if I can use another IDE such as Eclipse. In the meantime, I will wait for a future release of Intellij. Also, Apple should be releasing version 12.1 of Monterey so hopefully, that might fix it as I only started getting this issue after updating my Mac. Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it.
A pleasure to help Mohammed.
I also submitted this crash report to our issue tracking system so that the Dev team can take a look at it:
What version of IntelliJ IDEA do you have by the way?
P.S. IDEA 2021.3.1 Preview build is scheduled to be released any day now. You can check it out when you have a moment to see if the issue disappears with it.
I have the latest version of Intellij: IDEA 2021.3 but I will watch out for the recommended preview.
Once again, thank you and enjoy the rest of the day.
I'm seeing this issue on the newest version of pycharm
Hi Ankil335
Please upload IDE logs to https://uploads.jetbrains.com for analysis (entire archive): Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data.
Make sure to provide the id of the upload here so that I can find it.
