autocomplete not working

i have the latest pycharm downloaded but the auto-complete not working even when i have the "show suggestion as you type" box checked

please help thanks

1. Screenshot of the whole IDE window showing the issue

2. Minimal code sample where the issue is reproduced

3. Does the issue happen for any python module?

4. Does the issue reproduce in a new project?
