Intellij Asking for AWS Credentials Even Though AWS Credential Profile File is Detected and Being Used

I have the AWS credential profile setup and intellij recognizes it and is using it, but whenever I try to merge a branch using intellij instead of the terminal I am asked for user name and password. The credential file consists of aws_access_key, aws_secret_access_key, and aws_session_token, so I don't have any username and password when I am asked for credentials again, which shouldn't be happening in the first place. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
