How to save plugins when exporting settings

I regularly back up my settings via "File > Manage IDE Settings > Export settings".

However, if I start fresh by restoring the default settings and then re-importing my old backed up settings, all the plugins that I had previously installed disappear. I then have to reinstall all plugins.

Is there a way to also backup the list of plugins and their respective configurations?
