Is it possible to expand a tab to takeover the whole window? Hiding everything but that tab?

Hello,

When working with splits. e.g., 1 vertical (one side is top to bottom), 1 horizontal (the other side is split one on top, one on bottom), is it possible to quickly make any tab take over the whole window (temporarily hiding all splits and tools, etc)?

At the moment, I'm not sure if I'm maybe facing a bug but when I double click a tab, it'll just seem to toggle hiding tools only. Is there a way to focus into one tab (hiding all tools and other tabs) and when ready, return to the previous state (revealing all hidden tools and tabs)?
