Terminal panel closes immediately

Usually it happens when shell path is configured incorrectly. Could you provide a screenshot from "Settings/Preferences | Tools | Terminal"?

Ok this is a bit strange. I noticed that trying to start a new tab in my terminal app also didn't work... Oddly, previously running shells were fine. Also the `/bin/zsh` shell existed... A reboot of the whole macbook worked, but I have no idea why this happened. Thanks for your answer, and sorry for the confusion. I've added the screenshot below for posterity's sake.

Please provide the IDE logs for the investigation. (Help | Collect Logs and Diagnostic Data)

I had the same issue, and for me it was because my default terminal was Windows Subsystem for Linux. So when WSL is stopped or crashed the PHPStorm terminal tab was doing this. So restarting WSL solved it for me.

It's understandable but it still could be handled better by PHPStorm I think. The tab could open and  just give me an error message to point me in the right direction. Also I have other types of terminals, not just the default, like Git Bash, etc. that could still work just fine even if WSL is not available.

Has the problem been solved? I have got the same issue
