'Cannot establish connection' while setting toolchains cmake settings

Hello,

I am working on a project that uses a Remote Linux host.

In Build, Execution, Deployment > Toolchains, I see the message «Cannot establish connection».

I click the cog icon next to «Credentials:».

Then I press the «Test connection» button. I am prompted for my password and then receive the successfully connected message. 

Returning to the Toolchain I still see «Cannot establish connection». 

Why doesn't this work? Maybe I didn't set something up?

The ultimate problem I am trying to fix is being able to edit my files in CLion. For some reason they have became non-writeable, perhaps it is related to this?
