On the new UI 2022.3

Hi JB, after working a few days with the new UI I have some observations. Maybe work in progress, maybe unaware.
First of all: great tool. Coming from SSMS I really like the look and feel (and extended functionality).

For me the filtering of the Database Explorer is a very important and long anticipated feature. But I think the feature is not finished yet (or me not doing the right thing of course). What I do is after filtering (by finishing the search string with a "/") is going to the Editor, or File Explorer for that matter, to do my thing. But when I go to the editor the filtering resets. That is not what I expect because I use filtering for getting an overview of all of the objects in play for a certain issue I'm working on.

To my knowledge it is not possible anymore to drag and drop objects from the Database Explorer to the Editor.

The same is true for dragging and dropping (arranging) tabs in the Editor.

To be continued...

Did I already say that DG is a great tool?

Hi Leon,

Thank you for contacting us.

Just to make sure: by Filtering, you're referring to the new Filter feature for filtering database objects in Database Explorer:

If that's the case, please clarify where you put the "/" in Filter. When you exclude database objects in Filter, do the Filter settings reset as soon as you navigate to Editor or File Explorer? Please provide screenshots with examples.

Speaking of the drag and drop from Database Explorer to Editor, you mean opening the objects DDL in the editor when doing it this way? If so, you can right-click on the object and Navigate - Go to DDL.

Let me know if you have questions.

William Stam's comment in https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/DBE-3017 demonstrated the removal of the filter.
