I agree with Crispin above, maintaining two of each tool is a real pain; I end up with a lot of setup overhead to avoid some inefficiencies, such as having duplicate maven repositories in both WSL ...

The time taken to index is the main problem for me.  I've given up using any unnecessary plugins because when they update it triggers an index, but this isn't really that much of a bother for me.  ...
