Fair point. Fraid I didn't even see the underwaving till you mentioned it just now. So used to it, I never really notice it's there.

Thanks for the suggestion. Fraid that had no effect. I think I've found the problem though, Editor -> color schemes -> xml -> xml tag data was set to have a background color and when I unticked it ...

Thanks for your suggestion! No tooltips I'm afraid, asides from the lightbulb, nothing else appears.You're right though, it does look like the highlighing the spell checker would do.
