Make sure you have configure run/debug configuration start URL and deployment context correctly.Also check that Tomcat runs under JDK and not JRE.

You may have some old JUnit jars that may be loaded by Java from the following folders:/Library/Java/Extensions/~/Library/Java/ExtensionsMake sure these folders are empty.

Please see https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-102693 .It's already fixed in IDEA 15: https://confluence.jetbrains.com/display/IDEADEV/IDEA+15+EAP and will be also fixed in the next 14.1.x up...
