Thanks for your detailed report, there was indeed a problem specific to Freemarker results which will be fixed in next EAP of IntelliJ IDEA 12. Then you'll be able to use "/WEB-INF/views/index.ftl"...

It's in the initial list displayed when opening Settings->Plugins. Make sure you do not filter plugins by "enabled only".

Did you actually write new code using log4j's Logger class?Also verify that Editor -> Code Completion -> "Sort lookup items lexicographically" is unchecked.
