LiveEdit bundled with WS/S 5.0 contains bug related to this logic, fixed in 5.0.1.

It is possible and implemented. Should work for PHP, Smarty (.tpl) and Twig (.twig) files.

If code executed on page load and sourcemap backed breakpoint is not working — it is known bug. If code executed on event — please attach test typescript.

Just for clarification: is your server (pointing to 127.0.0.1) configured as Deployment Server (Settings -> Deployment) (don't worry, it is not required, just for clarification)?
