Andrew, currently AppCode doesn't show the reason when it stops on a signal/breakpoint. We'll improve it in the next updates; please follow and vote for http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/OC-3807....

Yes, see File->Template Settings->Inspections->Project Default->Spelling.This setting will be inherited by all new projects.
