What is your matplotlib version? It seems you have a corrupted installation. Are you able to reproduce the bug with another interpreter?

Hi! Please, go to 'File | Settings | Build, Execution, Deployment | Python Debugger' and turn off the option "PyQt compatible". Does it help?

Yes, during our conversation the bug was fixed. The fix will appear in the next PyCharm update. The number of the version will appear in the field "Fix versions".
