I don't think JDK change is the cause.I've seen this exception before but never succeeded in reproducing it.

If you open Local History on a file then you'll see only that file in a list. You have to open it on a broader scope to see more files.Shelved changes are stored as a patches in "shelf" subdirector...

At the moment IDEA doesn't support junctions at all, and symlinks are supported to a some extent only if you're running IDEA on Java 7.

The option is only a partial solution as it won't prevent recursive deletion of entire file tree instead of just junction.

Decompiling bytecode shows that in the latter case the advice is inlined as a synthetic method in the TestTarget class, so that actuallTestAspect.advice() method is never executed.
