Ubuntu giys here are claiming the issue is fixed: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/727143AFAIK the fix is still in "proposed" updates.

The crash looks more or less random. If you have more crash reports please attach them too. Also please try Oracle JDK 1.6 - it may be a bit more stable.Regarding slowlines - please take a CPU snap...
