Regarding the webappl.pft howto:page 1: 'now you should explain...' is incorrect English. it should be something like 'you should specify in Tomcat where your web app...'Instead of 'wrong settings'...

Well, web modules work well enough so they can be run. With the orion plugin, all you need to do is create the web module (don't worry about all the other crap in that panel like paths and suchlike...

I hope things can still work even if you choose not to deploy to a dir or to create a war (ie, the dir structure you have is a webapp, that can run as is and doesn't require pulling things together...

Yep, got it working, and just uploaded orionplugin fixed to work with 1071, hopefully with any of war/exploded/neither (I've verified it with my usage, which is neither).

One option to make Pat happy would be to just expose the API to allow plugins to find the webroots of a module, instead of the full J2EE API.

The spec doesn't support Dates (well, the QL mapping doesn't), even though most servers support it. It's recommended that you use longs instead. So I suppose IDEA is just trying to be helpful ;)

I assume when you say 'run a module', you mean an application. The only two cases where it makes sense to 'run' j2ee stuff is for a war, or an ear. I don't imagine many people need/want to run stan...

Hm, am I missing something? That's how it works right now in 2026. The extra files are basically file templates that (in theory) are called when you create a new module, same as web.xml/ejb-jar.xml...
