[closed]  Not sure what fixed it, but restarting mac a few times and removing all usb accessories its now come right.  I can debug again.

but its not unreachable.  Its where the debugger is currently stopped on.  You can see the value to the right of it.  The value is $pid: “20111”.If I continue stepping for a few more lines sometime...

It's still happening.  Less, but the cursor is still going away occasionally.  I've found cmd+g for goto allows me to get it back faster than the 'find' dialogue but action still needs to be taken ...
