dont know about the speed issue, but you can turn down or off the checking by clicking on the little man icon in the lower right corner.

The left hand pane shows '(spaces) .name(space)'The right hand pane shows '(spaces) .nam' with no space on the end and no 'e'.

Thanks for that Alexey,I had found the goto file after reading through the productivity guide. ctrl+shift+n This is also an excellent feature.
