i'd give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. the only thing i don't like about it is the lack of keyboard shortcuts compared to idea.you can use an evaluation version before you buy it.

in my case it is connected to subversion - if i use another (cvs using) project, the cpu load is much lower.

idea's speed didn't change for me... i started at idea 3.0 using a 1ghz p3 with 512mb ram, now i'm always at the latest eap - and a 2.7 ghz dual opteron and 2gb ram^^yes, it got slower. 2 out of 3 ...
