i think the real solution would be to prevent intellij from locking up at all, no matter how long a background operation is running

works, but it's not what i'd like... a hotkey that temporarily and magically inserts ":type" behind every declaration would be nice.

k, i'll file a youtrack issue because of the lockup then and stick with unique method names.

you mean you want to mix the output folder and something else and use that as the input folder for a second project? then wouldn't it be better if you had a dedicated folder for that?

yes https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-80984 they treat it exactly as i would expect from a hard to fix problem that requires a rewrite of a large part of the system
