Well, that's true, we can't handle such cases.I suggest that you remove terminal.xml from the repository (git rm -r --cached terminal.xml) and commit the change to avoid further conflicts.

Jd, if it's possible, I'd like to take a look at the PhpStorm log, it can be found under ~/.PhpStorm2016.3/system/logs, the file is called idea.log.
