I am using $VM_PARAMS$ in the mvn config's Runner->VM Options. What I get when I run the config:.../jdk1.7.07/bin/java $VM_PARAMS$ .......Error: Could not find or load main class $VM_PARAMS$Process...

${VAR_NAME} is the correct syntax but it adds the double quotes(I think if the variable contains spaces). My variable value isn't enclosed in double quotes.Using $VAR_NAME$ avoids the double quotes...

sorry, edited this msg as I posted in the wrong thread.Profiles might work but it would quite complicate the maven pom and working with it. There are around 30 modules and from time to time I work ...

Thanks for the suggestion, I gave it a try. Unfortunatelly compilation times are about the same, around 5 mins 30 secs.(I do have a very fast SSD)

yes the scala compiler is slow but independent modules could be compiled in parallel by i.e. multiple instances of the intellij scala server in a same fashion as mvn -T 2C

ok,seems this improved build times by 2x!CPU usage goes up to 60% (it uses more than 8 of my 16 cores)That's a big improvement, thanks
