This secret option it to turn on the logging of scalac's output. It is documented here.I agree that the detail of such errors should be displayed by default.

Hi,I am finally able to run all ScalaTest specs that are recursively found under a given package.I rolled up my sleeves and patched the Scala plugin for IDEA 9.0 - see attached.Hope it helps others...

The number one problem for us is http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/IDEA-12183 and we would really like to have it fixed by IDEA 6.0.6 indeed.
