The quick fix is to modify python.jar/META-INF/plugin.xml in the plugin folder.<idea-version since-build="139.1117" until-build="139.*"/>to <idea-version since-build="139.1117" until-build="140.*"/>

You have installed the last preview vesion of Java, JDK 1.4.2 Update preview 3.This is a known issue of that version, and you can read 'Read Me' file of that version of JDK.You have to use IDEA 4.5.

This will not work out every time.I have no idea why and when it works out.Maybe some evens will cause screen menu bar to be useless, and some actions will make it useful.This is very odd.

I guess you are using IDEA with Apple JDK 6.If you use the jdk-bundled IDEA, the font rendering will be lighter.
