Does the freeze only happen when you access data_frame.columns? Can you try a different expression?

Preferences -> Tools -> Terminal doesn't have much configurability, so it is just getting your python from your PATH. You can fiddle with how Windows passes paths into applications such as PyCharm....

Just to make sure, when you say "embedded terminal", you mean Terminal, not Python Console, correct?

Your Django scaffold should have a console command that creates the database and all the tables in the database. That isn't the kind of thing you want to do manually, as it isn't repeatable.
