I detected this error in 2017.2.5, but in 2017.3 IDEA EAP with the Scala Plugin 2017.3.4 it ran correctly. If you have a chance, please try it there.

Hello, did you update the Scala plugin to the latest version (2017.2.7 or 2017.3.4 in IDEA EAP)? Does the problem still persist today?

Currently, IDEA doesn't provide this option. But it definitely makes sense. I've created feature request for the case: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-179584

It's very similar to https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/SCL-12375 . Please, keep track of that ticket and let us know if the problem doesn't disappear after it's fix.
