“Checking for composer updates” when opening a project seems to block entry, but it eventually completes. After that, Indexing is exceedingly slow… I think it is frozen.I'm using macOS Sequoia 15...

That didn't fix the issue.What seems to fix the issue is completely uninstalling PHPStorm, all project .idea directories, and then reinstalling PHPStorm.

For me, it was always freezing checking Composer packages. I disabled the Package Checker plugin (bundled 251.27812.52) and it stopped freezing.
