Yes, Symantec Endpoint Protection.  I turned it off and tried again, but the performance did not improve.  Same symptoms.

Putting it in the Node parameters: box seemed like the right thing to do, so I tried it, and it made no difference.  I'm not sure what the Chrome developer tools has to do with anything - I'm debug...
