Hi Max - please report this to our issue tracker (https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/newIssue?project=IDEA), attach a demo project to reproduce the issue on and the idea.log file (Help | Show Log in...).

I'm afraid it is not possible at the moment (unless you write a custom plugin), but the idea is good and reasonable, so we will most likely create a new feature request for this in our tracker once...

Hi Jon - the action is called "Paste from History" in the IDE, you can check the default shortcut for it on the File | Settings | Keymap page if you choose the Emacs scheme.
