It sounds like the Ultimate edition is still installed. I'd completely remove IntelliJ first, including any old configuration if you don't need it, then install the Community Edition only.

I can understand the frustration, especially if features or workflows you rely on have changed unexpectedly. AI can be genuinely useful when it's optional and doesn't get in the way of the core dev...
