Antonina Belianskaya  My apologies, I should have posted an update.  I was working in an older project and once I updated from Python 3.6  to Python 3.9 it worked.  Thanks for following up.

I've updated to the most recent version of PyCharm from the Toolbox and I get the same issue: Process finished with exit code 137 (interrupted by signal 9: SIGKILL) when trying to open the console....
