Update, the server DOES stop when asked, but since the rest of the UI is unresponsive, I have to kill it and restart the IJ UI

seems like invalidating cache fixed it. not sure what happened before

 am not sure how but things have begun working again. maybe it just had to build all the caches. Not really sure what happened to cause it in the first place.I did notice that even when I did Find ...

Also, Find In Files for the Project level is also broken. I need to use Directory now which I never did before

hmmm, yes, that fixed it. now I have to see how to turn that feature off in prettier. i could have sworn this was not affecting things.thanks

Prettier IS hooked up but it doesn't affect jsx files

to be quite honest, I am not sure what that feature even does as it seems to be very confusing but it definitely shouldn't be on by default IMHO
