Please try to delete  C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\JetBrains\IntelliJIdea2020.X\  folders all together if you are in Windows. No worries those necessary will be recreated.

In my case File -> Invalidate Caches/Restart... alone helped without deleting .idea folder and *.iml file  jazz.
