Mouse is grabbing chunks of data and sometime pasting it where I don't want it

Starting a about a week ago my mouse (yes I have tried different mice) randomly grabs/highlights chunks of data.  Sometimes once I complete the highlight it pastes or moves the highlighted the data where I don't want it.  This happens when I hold down the mouse to highlight specific items but instead it grabs large section of data.  This only started happening in the last week or so and it is only happening in Intellij.

Here are my observations.  

- If I slow way down and deliberately click slowly it usually will work correctly. 

- It seems like it is grab sections of data from maybe where my mouse was initially

- Yes I have tried multiple mice so I don't think it is a mouse issue.

-It is ONLY happening in intellij and just started a week or so ago

My gut tells me I turned on some feature but I don't know what or how to turn it off.
