My Files are deleted!!!! Please help

* Keep in mind I'm new to Pycharm and Programming in general. 

Anyway I opened Pycharm and wanted to make a folder on my desktop (I think I did, I don't know), a folder called .idea was created on my desktop and I didn't want that. I wanted the actually Project that I called "HelloWorld" on my desktop. So i went into pycharm and tried to delete the folder, which I did but then when I went back to my desktop I couldn't open other files!!!

I keep getting the following error message:

"[Mapped Drive Location] is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or Internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted."

I just finished a four page essay and now I can't access it anymore... Like honestly wtf

Please help.
