Webstorm 2017.1 and 2017.1.1 EAP hangs when minimized for long period of time on macOS
Using Webstorm 2017.1 and 2017.1.1 EAP I've noticed that if I leave the IDE minimized on macOS overnight or for a couple hours, when I restore the window the IDE hangs.
In 2017.1 the IDE would not respond to mouse or keyboard input.
In 2017.1.1 EAP when the mouse is hovering over the IDE I get the spinning beachball.
Checking the idea.log, in 2017.1 I would see a stackoverflow error and errors related to Typescript despite not actually using typescript in my project (at com.intellij.lang.javascript.ecmascript6.TypeScriptTypeEvaluator.addTypeFromExternalModuleReferenceResolveResult(TypeScriptTypeEvaluator.java:231) and 2017.1.1 EAP doesn't show any errors.
Watching memory and CPU I don't see anything abnormal.
I've reverted back to 2016.3.5 to prevent this from happening, but want to try out some of the new stuff in 2017. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this further or prevent this from happening?

there are several issues that may be related - https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-165144, https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-170076, https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-166419, https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JRE-274, https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JRE-268, https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/JRE-283... all these are JDK issues (more or less related to each other). We have no chance to figure out the issue unless you provide the dumps/crash logs.
StackOverflow errors can also be an issue. can you provide your logs?
@Elena
I cannot post logs. I get an error saying I can only upload images. How should I proceed?
The issues people have reported using Gogland (which I have also installed) seem very very similar.
You can either upload files to file server and provide a link here, or attach them directly to youtrack ticket
